The Department of International Relations at Marmara University, established on May 3, 2012, under the Faculty of Political Sciences, began its educational activities in the 2014-2015 academic year. The department provides qualified education in the field of international relations and prepares students to engage with global issues.
Before taking departmental courses, students complete a one-year English preparatory program to gain competence in communicating internationally. Those who successfully complete preparatory school move on to their academic coursework, enabling to establish a strong academic career. At least 30% of the curriculum is in English, allowing students to access international sources and strengthen their global thinking skills.
Beyond the undergraduate program, the department offers thesis and non-thesis Master’s programs and a PhD program under the International Political Economy Graduate Department. The main aim is to provide students with a more in-depth academic experience. These programs aim to equip students as effective international experts by combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
With its commitment to academic excellence, research-oriented approach, and student-centered education, the department provides a dynamic learning environment for anyone wishing to advance in the field of international relations.
